Exploring the Park

GUIDED TOURS

Echo Lake Main Trail - 0.8 mile

This is a very short hike that circles the lake that occupies most of the park space. It may have special appeal for children, who can visit the playground and fish from the fishing pier.  While the main attraction is the lake itself, you can also encounter a few natural wonders, and we will point out a few. Of particular interest are the tree plaques along the way that identify tree specimens within the park.

Echo Lake Long - 2.8 miles

While the main part of the park is fairly small, this hike takes advantage of an informal trail that follows the course of Meredith Branch, the stream that feeds the lake.  This is a pleasant stroll along the creek, and children may enjoy splashing in the water.  In the spring and summer, you should encounter a number of interesting plants, especially in the first part of the hike.
